Every year there is a set time during which anyone can enroll in or switch Medicare plans and Medicare coverage. The time frame for the year 2011 starts one month earlier than usual on October 15 and ends three weeks earlier on December 7. Information for specific Advantage and Part D Medicare plans will be available starting October 1. Once you enroll, coverage for 2012 will begin on January 1.
